Conlan Scientific partnered with the University of Virginia for the Spring 2018 semester to teach STAT 4559: Data Science Practicum. Chris Conlan and Professor Jeff Holt co-taught a small group of students. Conlan Scientific provided educational resources, data, speakers, and software tools to enable students to tackle their own data science projects. We hosted events at the university to connect students with up-and-coming analyst and industry leaders, including Michael Fleming of Torc … [Read more...]

Conlan Scientific worked closely with the software development team at National Optronics to develop robotic motion control algorithms for its latest generation of lens cutting machines. We were approached to help reduce the jaggedness of the lens produced by the machine, while respecting strict boundaries on the jerk and error rate. We solved the problem by developing a proprietary contour smoothing pipeline that was fine-tuned for precision glass cutting. We were able to reduce the baseline … [Read more...]
Conlan Scientific used a Django stack to build a pluggable customer relationship manager to bring our acquisition, support, and hiring under the same digital roof. The Django stack allowed our Python developers to build independent modules to manage various critical business processes. We use the CRM internally every day, but we have also had great success re-implementing modules and business logic into other client's platforms. This project also allowed us to create powerful codebases that … [Read more...]
